This week I have been working on methods to imply bruising or a story without it being so literal.
I have been looking at illustrators and painters for inspiration to help move this stage on a quickly as possible because I need to get a variety of methods together without it taking weeks.
I have taken away the colours stereotypically used for skin so that the imagery does not seem human. Not to look haunting or dead but so that the impact of seeing a bruised face is not distressing. I have worked with pencil and used water colour to shade but also fine liner with watercolour to accent the face.
The paintings have worked well and I am going to carry on for a few more days to try and improve my drawing skill but also for elements to go into design.
